Many poor people and middle class people have 401(k) plans.

If the federal government cares about poor people and middle class people, it should stop taxing 401(k) plans.

401(k) plans should be tax free global investment accounts.

People should be allowed to take out their contributions from 401(k) plans tax free and penalty free whenever they want. This may encourage people to put more money in 401(k) plans.

People should be allowed to take out interest from their 401(k) plans whenever they want tax free and
penalty free.

People should be allowed to take out capital gains and dividends from their 401(k) plans tax free and
penalty free whenever they want.

People should be allowed to invest their contributions to 401(k) plans in any individual stocks and mutual funds they want in the United States of America and other countries.

Businesses should be allowed to say that their contributions to 401(k) plans have to be in their stocks and mutual funds they like.

I discuss dealing with the financial crisis and other topics on http://sites.google.com/site/kenstremsky/Home/global-thinking-expanded

The party in Hartford CT was well-attended by a predominantly white, young-to-middle-aged crowd. Out of about 700 people, maybe a couple dozen were wearing jackets or ties. The rest were apparently blue-collar or casual-office types.
