P.S. I recommend to all of you William Bodri's book "The Means to Win: Success Strategies for Business and Politics." I've read it and, for a book just under 100 pages long, it is a most enlightening read. Much of what is in there makes sense, whether you are a CEO of a corporation or a high-ranking government official.

In politics, there is no such thing as "one size fits all".

Ken Stremsky's comment is right on. By increasing the power of the State legislatures, we get a counterbalance to Federal power. As much as it pains me to say it, the Federal government has become bigger and bigger, just to stay on top of what is going in Stateside. Aren't the States pulling their weight? IMHO it would be better if the States did most of the heavy lifting in regional affairs. Far from inviting another antebellum secession scenario, it would free the Federal government's hands to attend to more important issues within its scope of authority. On the other hand, increased Federal intervention will only annoy the States and probably goad them on to secession.

It should be known that China, as an empire, has lasted so long precisely because its national government exercised only the barest minimum of power needed to keep the empire together. Local affairs were strictly the business of local governments. If any one province of group of provinces grew too powerful, measures were always taken so that the provincial government in question did not challenge the national government's authority.

Which reminds me, aren't States like Texas, California, and NY exercising too much influence over domiestic policy coming out of D.C.? These States have the lion's share of American GNP, so I guess their political influence would reflect this.

Are you a wanna be 1st time home buyer. This would be a good time to get off the fence. Stay within your budget but buy a home NOW ! If you are about to retire move to a state with a more consertive government. Tennessee went against the trend in the last election and should be considered. I saw a good web site for you to preview. Check-out: http://www.HomesGreaterNashville.com

Hey Kunte,

I think it would be extremely optimistic to assume you know how to do much involving math or science. Pretty sure you'd be a whiz at racial guilt polemics. Let me play, too, and ask: Do you also know how to chuck a spear, smoke a vial or father babies out of wedlock?

Furthermore, if I start to sense hyperinflation, as Don dreams of, I'll stock up on whiskey and gunpowder. Then, I'll load up with a little whiskey, load up the gunpowder, and go meet with Don to talk about gold.

Too bad this guy's in the gold business and just another greedy businessman like all the rest. Let's hope gold tanks and the dollar gains, just to shut up these lame marketing tactics.

We know the differences and they don't amount to a fly's fart.

Give a socialist a gun or a vote and he won't argue with you anymore. He'll just take what you produce and dole it out as he sees fit.

Gee, did the last 8 years even happen? What was the debt when W. came to office and what was it when he left? If I remember correctly the Repugs had a majority in both chambers of congress and the SC too. Funny thing is I agree with 90% of what you say, but quoting Rush and refusing to lay blame at the Repugs who had a big part in gettting us into this mess shows me your true colors. The Dems and Repugs are both leading us to Socialism. Were you this critical when that idiot W. was in office?

"We’ve elected a bozo" <<< I do nto consider myself a part of the we, I would say "They"
They voted for this bozo, not me, not we as in me and mine, they.

Cryin shame that 48% of us will pay for the stupidity of 52%

At least I can console myself everytime I see another person who realizes what a mistake OBAMA is, I laugh each time I go through the parking lot and see a newly ripped off Obama sticker where there once was one
