I'm not an Objectivist, but we need to recognize Rand's real insight: most 'virtues' are vices. They're atavistic herd instincts unsuited for a thinking, self-confident individual. As long as we indulge and flatter the herd's idiot emotivism we deny ourselves a truly comprehensive grasp of what it means to be a self-responsible individual, and we perpetuate their misery and stupidity.
