Hi, Hexx! Another great comment, thank you. You put your finger on it again: we don't do well in big groups because we don't want to. We're individualistic, we have plenty to keep our minds occupied, and all we want from the government is to defend our borders, send robbers and murderers to jails in Mexico, ensure that "if you broke it you bought it," and other than that--leave us alone. We build things, do things, make things, think for ourselves, and the only time we're likely to say "there oughta be a law..." we're going to end the sentence "against making laws!" If I were the kind to put bumper stickers on my vehicles I'd have one made up that asks, "Just when WILL we have enough laws?!" Thomas Jefferson would be aghast. The Constitution of the Republic of Texas (which has been updated ONLY to allow women and non-whites to vote, why, I'm not sure. Give me back the real Constitution and keep voting privileges!) allows the legislature to meet something like three weeks every other year, and if I had been doing it I would probably have given them a long weekend every five years.

No, I'm not an anarchist. Of course we need to protect against burglars and killers but I'm fed up with those who want to see everything that is not mandatory forbidden. And that's why I speak out!

Y'all come visit me in Guantanamo, now, y'hear? Linda

Thanks Linda and Ben for all the positive energy. I've come to the conclusion after many years, that We will never get a bunch of libertarians or anarchists or whatever We may call ourselves, to ever come together under one political banner. It's just contrary to our natures. We are for the most part individualists. So We must change the world one individual at a time. If We all would live our convictions , and not be shy about speaking out to other individuals, We might slowly starve the beast that enslaves us. You know, like the federal reserve and the type of government it supports. (the dragon that eats emails?) ;-)

Dear Herr Doktor Hexx:

Still no sign of your answer which is being held captive by the forces of evil. Given my choice of writing an urgent article on the spread of the notion of mandatory flu vaccines, and one commenting on what the Swiss just did, or lying down in a dark room while I ruminate upon the border patrol and Mexican Sheriffs elected in the Rio Grande Valley who get sent to jail for assisting drug cartels, or going to spend some time with my darling Charles who has been neglected most of the day, or telling you again what a great reader you are and admiring how succinctly you put what it took me thousands of words to say...why don't you write me at ranchLT4@gmail.com? I think we'd enjoy talking.

Sincerely, Linda Brady Traynham.

P.S. Normally I just sign "Linda" to friends, but Townhall has a disgusting piece on another Linda Brady who is behaving in ways I don't approve of at a national university, so I'm going to be formal. I'm sure not Sarah Brady, either!

Hi, Ben: Thanks for commenting, and isn't Doktor Hexx terrific? The Cyber Space Dragon is still holding my answer to him captive, some eight hours later, but he pegged it succinctly: be responsible for your own actions and caring for your family; don't use credit cards; and turn everything except emergency funds and operating expenses into commodities, metal, and other things of intrinsic worth and use.

I began doing all of that over two and a half years ago, and it looks as though I'll meet my goal of not holding any USD other than pensions and Social Security when the next round of bubbles pop and splat messily on the ground. Sometimes it feels pretty scary, but all we can do is analyze as carefully as possible using all the information we can get, lay our bets down, and spin the wheel. The wheel is going to spin whether we bet or not, and a "no bet" puts the non-punter at the mercy of the system. I advise the same precautions in Aus-TRY-lyuh, because the fallout is going to be world wide. I hope you're on a sheep station...or in an opal mine.

I'm a big fan of Doctor Paul, too. He's from my nation, the Republic of Texas. Sooner or later I'll get around to writing a three-parter on how Texas IS an independent, sovereign nation, although we were conquered and have been occupied for a hundred and fifty years.

Cordially, Linda Traynham

Have faith, Dr. Hexx and RCM. Somewhere in cyber space the dragon has your personal replies, and in due course, perhaps he will decide that chewing on them gently for two hours was long enough. If not, I'll re-write them this evening. Many thanks, both of you! Linda

After many decades of sweating it out as an engineer, I have discovered that it is more blessed to receive (benefits) than to pay (taxes), so I have quit working. In this country (the UK) the prudent are punished (through a system of confiscatory taxes, inflation, low returns on savings, denial of medical care) so the irresponsible can wax obese on welfare, the stupid or obtuse are saved from the consequences of their inane actions, and the guilty are protected from their victims' wrath by a bizarre system of compassion, political correctness feeding on taxpayer's money. I can still work, but have decided not to do so as it would all go to support a system that does not make sense to me. I now devote my time persuading my hard-working but misguided friends still in work of the foolishness of their ways, in order that the system will come crashing down, the earlier the better.
