But, "oil tankers parked off-shore" really did happen in the 70's just before the Arab Oil Embargo. How do I know? I used to work for a man who did just that! He had six oil tankers parked in the Persian Gulf. Once the embargo hit... he set sail for home! He went from being rich, to being VERY, VERY RICH!! Funny thing happened. He over-extended himself and had to file bankruptcy in the oil bust of the 80's! Well, I don’t know about today.
