Bill, Bill, Bill you are a master of occluded, circular rhetoric. The capitalists were totally in charge for the entire eight years leading up to the unprecedented debacle our economy has become. The unlimited greed, anything goes, no rules or regulation needed, mentality has very nearly brought the total world economic system to it's collective knees. The very Secretary of the Treasury you bemoan as a scalawag was taking his marching orders from the Bush gang, from whom the mafia could take lessons on corruption. Instead of castigating Paulson for performing mouth to mouth resuscitation, maybe you could question how the champions of capitalism allowed the situation to reach the point it did.
Your theory of frontier capitalism - if they can't keep up leave them for the wolves to clean up- would have probably worked in the 1800s, but since the no-holds-barred capitalists have been in charge for quite a long spell now pard, the world is too interconnected for that style to work any longer. I for one don't think Judge Roy Bean was a hero or a great guy. I think a little regulation would have gone a long way toward eliminating our present problem before it could become a problem.
Have a nice weekend yourself.
