I know Victoria pretty well and absolutely adore Vancouver, B.C. The opera! The multitudinous restaurants! The friendly people! Little India and China town! The scenery! "Forever Knight" is one of my favorite shows of all times, in terms of why I love Canada...and I have found long since that while the citizens are a little suspicious and surly to start, once we start talking we discover that the problem is our governments, not a real difference in philosophies. Dollar devaluation is coming--just look at the difference in exchange rates between Loonies and $ over the last decade. Gold is wonderful (LOVE the stuff!) but for most of us the "poor man's gold" is the answer. If we want to be able to continue to afford high tea at the Empress, it behooves us to collect one or the other. Linda Dear Douglas:
