GREAT comment, Bee, and very practical. I've been a mother for a thousand years, and one of my biggest rules is NEVER to lower a fever unless it is reaching brain-cooking heights. With, obviously, a good safety factor. The purpose of all that heat is to destroy germs, just as the purpose of small brush fires is to keep forest fires small instead of raging out of control.

Can't we just send them to the Mises Institute website first before hanging them in public as an act of fiat?

Dan, you're always worth reading, but this is one of your best. "Planet Death Star" should be printed on the ceiling of every brothel in Washington, D.C. so that our policymakers will be sure to see it before they pass any more stupid and destructive bailouts or stimulus plans.

The highest federal income tax rate on individuals should not be greater than 15 percent to encourage wealth creation, innovation, and job creation.

The highest federal corporate tax rate should not be greater than 15 percent to encourage investment in businesses and job creation.

The federal government and state governments should stop taxing interest from savings accounts, dividends, capital gains, and estates.

It is NOT about government revenues.

It is about jobs in the private sector. People who are employed in the private sector are able to mortgage payments, reduce their debts, buy things, and pay taxes to the federal government and state governments.

The less the federal government taxes individuals and businesses the more that state governments may be able to tax individuals and businesses. State governments may spend money a lot more wisely on energy transmission, energy development, public transportation, and other things.

I discuss dealing with the financial crisis and other topics on http://www.newgeography.com/users/kenstremsky

I recommend people check out http://www.poorandstupid.com which discusses the financial crisis and economics in an interesting way.

My website is http://www.myspace.com/kennethstremsky. You might enjoy the 6 humorous columns I wrote.

Nicely said, especially the end part about the depression being the recovery. Reminded me how fever is the body's own response to ridding itself of the illness, and how attempts to bring down the fever can lengthen the discomfort.
