Are Chinese manufactured Tractor Trailer sized tires affected by the tariff ? What sizes are not taxed the extra 35% tax? Because the law I read in 2009 said tax will be imposed on car and light truck tires made in China and sold in the US.
Anyone know please?

Cheer up, Robert. After all we came in first today, internationally! The Olympic committee threw out Chicago first as the site of the next games. Lucky, lucky Chicago, but another black eye for the Obamas diplomatic ability. "Take no prisoners, indeed."

Taxes are to be legally avoided, scorned and their proposers voted out as soon as possible.
However, as the ever charming Pat Buchanan pointed out here: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=33551, workers and manufacturers need a level playing field.
My own view is that our feckless, soulless government has sold us all out.
America needs a tax break, regulation holiday and less a few million bureaucrats.
No doubt our very own President has done the right thing for the wrong reason.
Zimbabwe is a sideshow, the Weinmar was just a footnote, we are going fourth world and the rest of the world is cheering us on..

Dear China Import:

You're definition is so precise it bears repeating: "A tariff is a system of taxes imposed by governments on goods crossing into the country’s borders and are imposed as a way of limiting goods from abroad. High tariffs are called “protectionism” because the high tax makes buying domestic products less expensive, thus “protecting” national businesses. Whether tariffs are harmful or beneficial is an ongoing economic debate. They may be considered bad, harming the free trade action, but are beneficial for national producers." Tariffs "protect" the few in the USA at the expense of the many. This is precisely the same issue we fought about 150 years ago. Hope to hear from you again. LBT
